Nearest Locations Panel Field
Introduction
The Nearest Locations Panel Field is an optional visual target for a Nearest Locations Field. It displays the selected destination using the template configured in the source field.
Available in: Agency.
The panel does not run a search, accept visitor input, or save an independent submission value. Its API requirements come from the connected Nearest Locations workflow rather than from the panel itself.
Configuring the Nearest Locations Panel Field
The panel has no custom geolocation settings of its own. Configure the relationship and display behavior in the Output Display settings of the Nearest Locations Field:
- Nearest Locations Panel: Select the panel that should receive the chosen destination.
- Nearest Location Output Template: Define the result markup with destination-property placeholders such as
{title},{address}, and{distance}. - Auto Display Nearest Location: Automatically select and display the nearest result after the search. When disabled, the visitor normally selects a result; a Results Limit of 1 still applies the single result automatically.
If the same Nearest Locations Field is connected to a Map Field, selecting a map marker can update the panel so the map and panel remain synchronized within the same destination-selection workflow.
Setting Up and Using the Nearest Locations Panel Field
- Add and configure a Nearest Locations Field.
- Add a Nearest Locations Panel where the selected result should appear in the form.
- Open the Nearest Locations Field's Output Display settings.
- Select the Nearest Locations Panel.
- Customize the Nearest Location Output Template.
- Choose whether Auto Display Nearest Location should automatically apply the first result.
- Save the form and test a search and selection from a known origin.
Saved Value and Outputs
The Nearest Locations Panel is a UI-only field and stores no independent value. Submission views report that this field does not store a value.
Use the connected Nearest Locations Field for saved data, notifications, merge tags, dynamic outputs, and integrations. That source field stores the complete selected-result object.
Troubleshooting
The panel remains empty
Confirm that this panel is selected in the Nearest Locations Field, the origin and destination source return at least one valid result, and either Auto Display Nearest Location is enabled or the visitor selects a result.
The wrong panel receives the result
Open the source Nearest Locations Field and review its Nearest Locations Panel selection. On forms with more than one search workflow, connect each source field to the intended panel.
The custom template does not display correctly
Test the default Nearest Location Output Template first. Then confirm that every placeholder matches a property available in the destination source and that the custom HTML is valid.
The panel is styled incorrectly
Check whether the active theme applies broad styles to lists, buttons, or form containers. Add narrowly scoped CSS for the Ninja Geolocation result panel rather than changing the stored result template solely to counter unrelated theme styles.
