Address Validation Field
Introduction
The Address Validation Field checks an address from a Geocoder field, displays Google's standardized result and validation feedback, and can optionally send the confirmed or selected address to a separate Output Geocoder field.
Available in: Pro and Agency.
This field requires the Address Validation API to be enabled on the Browser API Key.
Google Address Validation is available only for supported countries and regions. For an unsupported region, the field reports that address standardization is unavailable. The form can still use the location provided by its regular Geocoder field.
Configuring the Address Validation Field

Source Geocoder Field
Select the Geocoder field containing the address that should be validated.
Validation begins when the selected Source Geocoder finishes resolving a complete address. Typing in an Address field alone does not necessarily trigger validation.
Output Geocoder Field
Optionally select a separate Geocoder field to receive the confirmed or selected address.
When Google confirms an address immediately, Google's formatted result is used when available. If the visitor is asked to choose between the entered address and Google's suggestion, the Output Geocoder receives the address selected by the visitor.
Leave this setting empty to keep the result in the Address Validation field without sending it to another Geocoder.
USPS Policy
- Off: Ignore USPS-specific delivery signals.
- Notes only: Display and save USPS-related information without changing the base validation outcome.
- Strict: Use USPS delivery-point signals when determining whether the address needs confirmation or correction.
- Strict (unknown fails): Also treat an unavailable or unknown USPS delivery-point result as a failed validation result.
USPS policies affect the field's validation result and feedback. They do not, by themselves, prevent Ninja Forms from being submitted.
USPS verdict information applies only to supported United States address responses. It should not be treated as guaranteed deliverability or direct USPS certification.
Auto-Apply Suggested Address
When enabled, the field automatically accepts Google's suggested address when Google returns a different address that would otherwise require confirmation.
This setting does not automatically overwrite every confirmed address.
Setting Up and Using the Address Validation Field
Before You Begin
Configure a Browser API Key with the Address Validation API enabled.
The form also needs a Geocoder field containing the address to validate. In most forms, an Address field provides the visitor-facing input and synchronizes its selected location with that Geocoder.
The Address Validation field remains hidden until the Source Geocoder resolves an address and a validation result becomes available.
Add and Connect the Fields
- Add a Geocoder field to the form.
- Add an Address field and connect it to the Geocoder.
- Add the Address Validation field.
- Select the Source Geocoder Field.
- Optionally select a separate Output Geocoder Field to receive the confirmed or selected address.
- Choose the USPS Policy.
- Choose whether a different suggested address should be applied automatically.
- Save the form and test it on the frontend.
Frontend Workflow

- The visitor enters or selects an address.
- The connected Source Geocoder resolves the address into structured location data.
- The Address Validation field sends the resolved address to Google for validation.
- If Google confirms the address, the confirmed result is displayed and saved automatically.
- If Google recommends a different address, the visitor can keep the entered address or accept Google's suggestion.
- If Auto-Apply Suggested Address is enabled, a different suggested address can be accepted automatically.
- The confirmed or selected address is saved and can optionally be sent to the Output Geocoder and its connected fields.
Saved Value and Outputs
The Address Validation field saves a structured validation record as JSON with the form submission. The saved information can include:
- The submitted, suggested, and confirmed or selected address.
- The validation status and outcome.
- The delivery-status result.
- The selected-address type and country or region information.
- The source Geocoder reference and raw validation or USPS data when available.
Ninja Geolocation displays a readable version of the result in submission views and regular merge-tag output while preserving the underlying structured data for advanced integrations. Geolocation merge-tag parts can request list, HTML, text, JSON, selected address, suggested address, status, outcome, or delivery status.
Dynamic Field Options can copy the status, outcome, delivery status, selected address, suggested address, selected-address type, region code, or Geocoder reference into a supported ordinary Ninja Forms field.
If an Output Geocoder is configured, use that Geocoder and its connected Address, Coordinates, or Map fields when downstream actions need the confirmed or selected location.
Troubleshooting
Select the issue below that best matches what you are experiencing.
No validation result appears
Confirm that the Source Geocoder completed successfully and contains a complete location. Entering text without selecting or resolving an address may not trigger validation. Also confirm that the Address Validation API is enabled and permitted on the Browser API Key.
403 or PERMISSION_DENIED
Check that billing is enabled, the Address Validation API is enabled, the API restrictions permit the service, and the HTTP-referrer restrictions include the site where the form is displayed.
The address is in an unsupported country or region
Google Address Validation is not available in every country or region. When validation is unavailable, the field displays an informational result and the form can continue using the regular Geocoder location.
The selected address does not update other fields
Confirm that a separate Output Geocoder is selected and that the Address, Coordinates, or Map fields that should receive the result are connected to that Output Geocoder.
A strict USPS result does not block submission
This is expected. Strict USPS policies affect the saved validation result and the feedback shown to the visitor, but the Address Validation field does not directly block Ninja Forms submission.
